Motivational Workout Tracking Calendar

Happy Workout Wednesday! I'm excited to host another WOW linkup with Diatta Harris from Femme Fitale Fit Club, Sheila Simmons from The Frugal Exerciser, Natalie from Clean Eating Teen, and Jenn from Comeback Momma!

As I mentioned in my monthly goals post, I've been having trouble making sure I get in a good balance of workout types every week. So to help me stay on track, I devised a cute and simple (because I'm way too lazy for anything complicated) exercise tracking system for the month that I wanted to share.

I picked up a cheap pack of colorful smiley face stickers from CVS and am placing a different color smiley on the calendar every time I complete a workout. Red for running, yellow for yoga, green for strength training, blue for volleyball, and purple for other.

Maybe it's just the kindergartner in me, but so far it's been really motivating to see the stickers add up. Plus the whole color coding thing makes it really easy to see where I've been slacking. Now I just need to decide on a sticker goal and think of an appropriate award. Preferably one that doesn't involve food, which is hard for me since I'm always thinking about food.

The wall calendar I have is currently sold out on Etsy, but here's some other great workout tracking options:

-This calendar is similar in size to mine and I love the owls.
-If you have space this chalkboard decal calendar would be a cool and you could reuse it indefinitely.
-Or, downloadable calendars like this one are a great, inexpensive alternative.
-These little strength training stickers would be perfect for tracking workouts.
-I also love the motivational sayings on this option.
-These printable gym time labels would be great to use in a planner.

Q: How do you track your workout? Any good ideas for a (non-food) reward?

Now on to the party!

  3. So fun! We all seem to use our smartphones for so much these days, but I still like to see it in paper in front of me. This is a great visual aid! #wowlinkup

  7. that;s a great idea! I write my workout in my calendar like appts so they always get done. I try to do the same workouts on the same days of the week and that keep me on track.

  8. I just started tracking my workouts on paper again - not an app. I have a plain calendar and I simply write the miles, how (bike, run, etc), lift, yoga, etc. I LOVE the color coding idea! #wowlinkup

    1. Thanks Michele! I used to write mine down too and love having the detail. The stickers are much faster and easier for me to see at a glance though. Color coding on the calendar writing would be great too!

  11. I do to Walgreens.com to track my workouts and I get points also. Visuals are also great if you are trying to lose weight. I have clients put up realistic pictures of how they want to look like. #wowlinkup
