This road trip has inspired me to reflect on journeys of all kinds. As a competitive person, I focus on setting and reaching goals. I want to be faster, stronger, smarter. I measure progress with achievements and am constantly looking ahead to the next challenge.
Making time to stop and see some amazing sights on a tight timeline, and even remembering to take in the beautiful scenery along the road, has reminded me of the importance of enjoying the journey.
As humans we'll never be perfect. As long as we live we'll change, grow and make mistakes. So instead of waiting to reach some imaginary finish line, let's celebrate every step along the way.
